Europe’s Digital Education Vision
Europe’s Digital Agenda Commissioner Neelie Kroes has reiterated the European Commission’s commitment to ensuring that all Europeans are fully digital by 2013. Commissioner Kroes’ speech at the opening plenary session of ONLINE EDUCA BERLIN set the tone for a conference which attracted 2154 participants from 96 countries to its programme of discussions about the latest trends in ICT and education. The European Year of Volunteering Tour comes to an end
EYV Tour made its 27th and last stop in Valletta from November 28th - December 4th, 2011. Launched in Brussels in December 2010, the EYV toured every member state in order to bring visibility to the Year’s aims, and it also served as the EU’s formal way to say “Thank you” to all volunteers. The tour provided volunteers and organisations involving volunteers (OIVs) with an opportunity to meet, showcase their achievements, give live demonstrations and raise awareness about volunteering to visitors. ICWE implemented the media strategy of the European Year in every EU Member State and supported the National Coordinators in their press work.

EYV 2011: Closing conference in Warsaw
More than 230 participants from 27 member states met in Warsaw, Poland, from December 1st–2nd, 2011 to share their knowledge, experiences and ideas on volunteering. The policy-orientated EYV conference focused on how to prepare a lasting legacy for the European Year of Volunteering. The idea was to set the scene for policy development and continued action in the area of volunteering at EU, national and regional levels, to ensure a lasting, meaningful legacy for the European Year and the years to come. ICWE was in charge of the organisation of the conferences in Hungary, Greece and Poland as well as the overall PR campaign for the EYV 2011.

eLearning Africa 2012 – The Call for Papers is open!
eLearning Africa 2012 will take place at Le Palais des Congrès de Cotonou, Cotonou, Benin from May 23rd to 25th.
