ICT Best Practices: From April 21 to 23, the capital of Burkina Faso, Ouagadougou hosted the second annual "Africa ICT Best Practice Forum" in cooperation with Microsoft. The event creates an efficient and effective platform for governments from across Africa to share experiences and demonstrate practical examples of successful technology solutions. It attracted about 320 delegates from 39 countries, including a large crowd of ministers and civil servants from all over the Continent. ICWE acted as the event organiser for Microsoft.

Professional Language Training: From April 21 - 23, the 7th Languages and Business conference was held in Duesseldorf. The event attracted 251 participants from 15 countries. This year, Languages & Business had a particular focus on second-language education and intercultural skills in a professional environment and what firms need to know when they outsource training in these fields. EU commissioner Leonard Orban, responsible for Multilingualism, hosted a business forum on corporate language training in conjunction with Languages & Business on Monday, April 21st.
The Call for Papers for the 7th Languages and The Media conference and exhibition has opened. The international conference on language transfer in the audiovisual media takes place from 29th to 31st October. Another Successful StudyWorld 2008: The international higher education fair ended on Saturday, April 26th. The two-day event welcomed 9,781 visitors at Berlin's Russisches Haus der Wissenschaft und Kultur. This year, 159 universities and training providers from 25 countries presented their programmes and services. The next StudyWorld will take place in May 2009.
ICWE partners with MEDEA Awards: ICWE is partner of the recently launched MEDEA awards, which like to encourage innovation and good practice in the use of digital moving images and sound in education.
