EXPOLINGUA Berlin is the only international fair for languages and cultures in Europe’s German-speaking region and provides the most comprehensive market overview. Each year, more than 150 exhibitors from over 25 countries present products and services related to foreign language education at this multinational event. They include language schools, language travel agents, exchange organisers, embassies, cultural institutes, tourism offices, publishers and language learning software providers. The target group includes all those with a passion for language learning, such as secondary school and university students, teachers, tutors and professors, as well as translators, interpreters and language travel agents. The accompanying seminar programme is one of the event's principal attractions with experts on language and culture focussing on current trends.

Professional Language Training: From April 21 - 23, the 7th Languages and Business conference was held in Duesseldorf. The event attracted 251 participants from 15 countries. This year, Languages & Business had a particular focus on second-language education and intercultural skills in a professional environment and what firms need to know when they outsource training in these fields. EU commissioner Leonard Orban, responsible for Multilingualism, hosted a business forum on corporate language training in conjunction with Languages & Business on Monday, April 21st.

The Call for Papers for the 7th Languages and The Media conference and exhibition has opened. The international conference on language transfer in the audiovisual media takes place from 29th to 31st October. Participants will discuss changes, innovations and latest developments in the global media business. The deadline for submissions is May 16th. More…
