Security and Defence Learning 2010: Call for Papers

A call for papers has been issued for Security and Defence Learning 2010, the forum for discussion of key issues in technology-assisted learning for defence, security and emergency services. This year's event, will once again be hosted by The New Security Foundation and follows last year's successful and enjoyable conference. As an official pre-conference forum of ONLINE EDUCA BERLIN, it will be held in the InterContinental Hotel on December 1st.

The New Security Foundation is interested to receive proposals for presentations at the forum. Themes for discussion are likely to include:

  • Training for new threats and challenges
  • Training for cyber security (including data management, transfer, cyber attack, cyber warfare etc)
  • Virtual reality and simulation
  • Police training
  • Early warning systems
  • E-Learning in conflict zones
  • Tools for autonomous learning
  • New learning technologies and their use in the security sector
  • Developments and challenges in military training and learning
  • Interdisciplinary training
  • Academia and the new security environment
  • The role of new media in combating corruption
  • ROI in training and evaluating e-learning success in security

The list is not exhaustive but merely a selection of some of the themes that may be discussed at this year's forum. At this stage, the organisers would still be prepared to consider proposals for other topics for discussion. Further details can be found on the New Security Foundation website or by contacting the organisers at info@newsecurityfoundation.org
