One for All - Education Highway Chooses Fronter
Education Highway – an innovation centre for schools and technology – has chosen the Fronter Open Learning Platform as a means of bringing Austrian schools up to the next level of collaboration and learning on the web. Professor Anton Knierzinger, Education Highway Director, says, "I am delighted that we have started this cooperation with Fronter and are hereby expanding our existing services to Austrian schools."
Fronter provides tools for collaboration on the web based on Scandinavian pedagogy and modern web applications. It is a module-based system offering more than 90 easy to use tools in one package solution, for organising learning, communication and administration.
Among the most recent additions to the tool package are semantic full text search, group text messaging capability and Microsoft SharePoint integration. High scalability and open API support large installations as well as provide opportunities for individual customisation.
Altogether this has resulted in Fronter currently being available to more than 3 million users, at more than 3000 educational institutions across Europe. The company now operates in ten European countries and the Fronter Open Learning Platform has officially been selected by the following capital cities: Oslo, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Stockholm and London.
Complete Solution for Students, Teachers, Parents and School Administration.
The use of web 2.0 technology, individual learning paths and personal e-portfolios, support lifelong learning from primary school, through to secondary education, higher education, University and the workplace. Fronter supports all current e-learning standards, making it possible to not only produce, communicate and share digital learning content, but also to import additional content from other platforms.
Fronter brings more than ten years of international experience in implementation, integration and training, to ensure a successful introduction of the learning platform in Austria.
"Over a period of ten years, we have developed a platform for learning and collaboration in close cooperation with a large reference group of teachers and academic professionals. We have remained true to the ideas and concepts of this professional community and are pleased our joint efforts have resulted in a platform with such wide appeal. Austria is one of Europe's leading nations when it comes to technology in schools and we are very proud to feature in the long term plans for Austrian Education", says Roger Larsen, Fronter Managing Director and Founder.
