Web 2.0 Hype

What is the experience of companies embracing technologies such as wikis and blogs as part of their internal staff Learning & Development programme, and how can you benefit from this?

For instance:

  • Do you have to be a blogger yourself as well to implement the new technologies?
  • How do you make it accessible to technophobes?
  • Does the idea of staff sharing their knowledge and experience online inspire you - or does it fill you with dread?
  • In which contexts can these technologies flourish? Where are they best avoided?
  • How can you most effectively mix and match the various web 2.0 technologies on offer?

An Unconference

Part of the power of web 2.0 is that the content is not prepared in advance by the organisers, but evolves organically from the contribution of visitors at the website. The seminar format for "2.0" will be very open, giving you many opportunities to discover answers to these questions for yourself, direct from others that are already involved in these activities and also for new colleagues you meet at the session to learn from you.

The Session Leaders

The seminar will be managed by a team of experienced and knowledgeable leaders in the field.

Stephen Citron
With a background in software development and training, in education and in sales, Stephen established the informatology L&D Forum in 2003. It has become a vibrant community for staff development professionals, providing innovative and dynamic opportunities for face2face peer-learning.

The Forum presents Conferences on L&D Strategy and L&D Technology themes in London, England featuring world-class keynotes, case studies from experienced practitioners and exchanges with solution-consultants, with a key focus on interactions with fellow delegates.

Starting in 2008 the Forum now presents Raids across the UK (visits to training departments in other sectors) with the aim of helping L&D professionals gain real knowledge from living case studies. These are proving to be lively learning experiences combining actual experience with informed debate.
